    The Bristol TN/VA Chamber of Commerce (BCOC) was established in 1909, and is one of only 1.8 % of chambers nationwide who have earned the distinction of being a 5-star accredited chamber. The BCOC serves both Bristol, TN and Bristol, VA, with a collective population of approximately 47,000. Bristol is one community that straddles the state line for VA and TN.

    Position Summary:
    The Bristol Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Member Engagement and Events Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in fostering positive relationships with chamber members, organizing engaging events, and providing administrative support to enhance member experiences and promote the Chamber's mission.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
     
    1. Event Planning and Coordination:

    • Plan, organize, and execute a variety of events, including networking mixers, seminars, workshops, and member appreciation events.
    • Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, and attendee registration.
    • Collaborate with event sponsors, vendors, and partners to ensure successful event execution.
    2. Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative assistance to chamber leadership and committees, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and document preparation.
    • Maintain accurate member databases, records, and files.
    • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence as needed.
    3. Member Services and Support:
    • Act as a resource for members, offering guidance, resources, and support to help them maximize their chamber membership benefits.
    • Coordinate member onboarding processes and orientations.
    • Collect feedback from members and use it to enhance member services and experiences.
    4. Networking and Relationship Building:
    • Facilitate networking opportunities for members through events, forums, and business exchanges.
    • Foster relationships between members, encouraging collaboration and partnerships within the business community.
    • Attend chamber events and represent the organization professionally.

    Qualifications:
    • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma, college degree preferred.
    • Experience in event planning, member engagement, or customer relations preferred.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital marketing tools.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for supporting and serving members.
