Theatre Bristol Presents Live on the Paramount Bristol Stage “Scrooge! The Musical” November 22-24 & December 6-8, 2024
Announcing regional cast and tickets on sale now for this holiday favorite!
A timeless musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the wonder of Christmas magic in “Scrooge! The Musical” transforms the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge in a profound experience of redemption over the course of a Christmas Eve night. Theatre Bristol announces a cast of 33 who will bring the transforming spirit of Christmas, live on stage to Paramount Bristol, in six performances this November and December, with tickets on sale now.
Renowned composer of beloved music for Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Doctor Dolittle, Jekyll & Hyde, as well as the love theme from Superman, Can You Read My Mind? and many others, Leslie Bricusse is the writer, composer, and lyricist of “Scrooge! The Musical,” made famous on film featuring Albert Finney before coming to the stage.
This heartwarming and entertaining stage production has played to many Theatre Bristol sold-out houses over the years, with Dickensian characters and the rousing “Thank You Very Much,” “December the Twenty-Fifth,” and “Father Christmas,” the moving “Love While You Can,” “A Better Day,” “Happiness,” and “A Beautiful Life,” and humorous “I Hate People” and “The Minister’s Cat,” and much more, delighting everyone.
Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Theatre Bristol veteran actor Chris McVey, is visited by the ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley played by Mike Todd and the Ghosts of Christmas Past by Hannah Stam, Christmas Present by Mike Locke, and Christmas Future by Joseph Stam.
Scrooge’s clerk, Bob Cratchit, is played by Jim Altman III and Bob’s youngest son, Tiny Tim, is a role shared by Katie Collea and Reese Davis. Madeleine Bullen as Mrs. Cratchit, is the mother of five, with Erin Solley as Martha, Bentley Forinash as Peter, Kate Zeiler as Belinda, and Emma Cornett as Kathy.
Isaac Alford doubles as Young Ebenezer and Harry, and Baleigh McKeehan as Isabel and Helen. Reece Hilt plays Ebby, a very young Scrooge, and Lucy Helvey plays his sister, Jenny.
Young Scrooge’s boss, Mr. Fezziwig, is played by David Alford and Mrs. Fezziwig by Susan McNabb. Joseph Stam undertakes Dick Wilkins and Topper, Young Scrooge’s and nephew Harry’s best friends.
In debt to Scrooge are Dan Gray as Tom Jenkins, Annie Barranco as Bess, Elijah Bullen as Bissett the Butcher, Deklan Thomas as Mr. Pringle, Christina Dalton as Mrs. Pringle, Susan McNabb as Mrs. Dilber, Libby Street as Miss Dilber, David Alford as the Wine Merchant, Richard Albright as Miller and the Punch and Judy Puppeteer, and Phoebe Bullen as a Beggar Woman
Tony DeVault and Mike Todd are philanthropists Hugo Harty and Jocelyn Jollygoode.
The London street urchins include Kaden Walls, Sylas Lawson, James Bullen, Anna Theresa Bullen, Abby Cheek, and Lily Frazier.
Directing and choregraphing the holiday favorite and cast of 33 from around the region is Theatre Bristol veteran, Camille Gray, who made her own theatre debut in the 2003 production and played Christmas Past in more recent versions. She has since gained directing credits for The Diary of Anne Frank, Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar, and Godspell, and choreography credits for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Oklahoma!, Into the Woods, and The Wizard of Oz. Camille is supported by the creative team of music director Robert Greene, stage manager Nicole Intagliata, scenic designer Luke Gray, costume designer Adriel Slaughter, props artisan Rebecca Ryan, special effects designer and tech director Albert Tester, along with Theatre Bristol crew, and producer Samantha Gray.
