King University Fall Band Concert
Description
The King University Bands will present their Fall Concert on Saturday, Nov. 11 at First Presbyterian Church adjacent to the King’s main campus in Bristol. The program, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will include performances by the King University Chamber ensembles and the Jazz Band. The concert is free of charge and open to the public. The King University Bands are under the direction of Susan E. Nicholson, DMA. “The fall band concert is quite diversified in the musical selections and types of ensembles. From the classics to recently composed music, everyone should find something they enjoy.” The concert will feature the King University Chamber Ensembles – flute choir, percussion ensemble, woodwind trios, and quartets – performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Vaughan Williams, and contemporary composers such as Chick Corea and Patrick Glenn Harper. The King University Jazz Band will perform jazz classics by Miles Davis, Count Basie, Kenny Dorham, and Frank Sinatra, as well as jazz fusion and Afro-Cuban compositions.
