- Cultivate relationships with members of the College, Foundation Board, Community, Business/Industry, Education, Legislators, K12 Partners, Regional Leaders, and State Leaders to build, sustain and support all activities of the Advancement Office.
- Provide leadership, management, and planning to implement best practices and continually improve all functions related to the NeSCC Advancement Office.
- Manage the Advancement Office in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, policies, procedures, guidelines and SACSCOC standards.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards in the stewardship and cultivation of resources, including but not limited to, adhering to the Conflicts of Interest policy and representing the interests of the College, Advancement Office, and Foundation in professional transactions.

- Maintain digital calendar and archive annually on June 30. Provide supervisor with access to calendar and an archived copy of calendar for annual performance review.

- Lead/promote College and TBR initiatives as they relate to this office.

Specific Role and Responsibilities
- Oversees the planning, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising program, including annual giving, special events, capital campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, and community relations.
- Manages prospect identification, cultivation, and ongoing solicitation of individual donors, foundations, and corporations.
- Provides leadership for College staff to assist in prioritizing their fundraising needs and to engage in fund development strategies.
- Administers the Advancement Office’s annual budget and works with College administration to coordinate the distribution of scholarship funds and other grants.
- Budgets for fund development activities and maintains financial records for tracking.
- Initiates and establishes philanthropic partnerships with businesses, community members, organizations, and prospective donors.
- Oversees an ongoing annual gifts program to support special annual programs and foster asset growth.
- Develops and implements an ongoing Planned Giving Program to promote and secure gifts, lifetime and testamentary gifts through trusts, bequests, and annuities.
- Monitors, evaluates, and revises development and advancement programs to ensure optimal program effectiveness.
- Ensures that there is timely entry of donations, and accurate acknowledgement of donor gifts, concerns, and requests as well as maintenance of fundraising database and confidentiality.
- Supervises the establishment of new donor scholarships and collaborates with NeSCC’s Financial Aid Office and Scholarship Office to administer donor scholarship programs.
- Ensures that gifts are administered to honor donor intent and adhere to investment policies, scholarship criteria, and Foundation policies.
- Serve as the primary contact between the College and the Foundation Board of Directors, maintaining effective communication and interaction.
- Works with the Foundation Board of Directors on Board member recruitment, strategic planning, Board fundraising activities, and other appropriate matters.
- Plans and coordinates Board and Committee meetings and serves as liaison to the Foundation’s financial advisors.
- Serves as the spokesperson for the Advancement Office, ensuring donor confidence and broadening the public’s understanding of the Foundation’s mission and values.
- Oversees all Alumni initiatives, including database development and outreach.
- Oversees Advancement Office staff in planning and coordinating events, donor recognition receptions, cultivation events, and other donor-centered activities.
- Provides direction to create and design marketing materials and social media campaigns that will generate awareness of the Advancement Office, attract donors, and increase awareness of giving opportunities.
- Attends functions and trainings as necessary to further fundraising, collaboration, and visibility goals.
- Works to inform potential donors of the College’s history, achievements, goals and needs, and encourages individuals, corporations, and foundations to establish or contribute to special funds through endowments, trusts, and donations or bequests.
- Oversees preparation of the Advancement Office’s Annual Report and all correspondence.
- Hires, supervises, directs, and evaluates the performance of the Advancement Office staff and serves as a mentor to further develop Foundation staff’s career goals.
Requirements of the Position
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in progressively responsible roles in the areas of advancement, development, foundation, finance or administration.
- Demonstrated experience securing grants, donations or other extramural funding.
- Strong ability to build relationships with a diverse group of constituents with varying levels of education and experience.
- Understanding of state budget and financial policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission, shared governance, diversity, and inclusive excellence.
- Technology Skills: MS Office skills, Word, Excel, digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems.
- Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Ten or more years in progressively responsible roles in the areas of advancement, development, alumni affairs, finance or administration.
Compensation: $77,391 - $96,738 annual salary dependent on education and experience.
